9/11 Patriots Day

Emily Choi, Staff Writer

It was just a regular day for people working at the World Trade Center. Little did they know, it would be the worst day of their lives. On September 11, 2001, in the morning a couple of terrorists hijacked multiple planes and were planning on crashing them into the World Trade Center. As the planes hit the building, it started catching on fire. People were rushing, as they tried to exit the building. Many people left messages to their families, thinking they would never see them again. Heroic people entered the building to help others. On that day there were 2,977  deaths with 6,000 people injured.

On 9/11 we honor the people who have passed in the burning building and the people who risked their lives to save others.  In May 2002, Daniel Libeskind’s design of a building was chosen to be built, it was called the Memory Foundation. Now the Memory Foundation stands in the place of where the World Trade Center stood before.
