Sarahah

Rese Reynes, Staff Writer

Sarahah is an app where users can anonymously send honest feedback. Some send questions and comments, some are random, but some are just full of hate. Parents are concerned about their children’s mental stability when they are exposed to bad comments, as some of us cannot take hate easily. These hate comments are considered ‘cyber bullying.’

Sarahah has been taken down in the App Store and Google play after complaints of personal and harmful comments towards the user. Most comments are posted on the user’s story with their response to the comment. The majority of what I’ve seen has been from my classmates, the majority of which are okay, nothing too harsh. People tend to get a little too personal with what they ask, but use anonymous to their advantage. The relevance of Sarahah has died down, but there are still people using it.

The other part comes from people such as video editors, dancers, and friends outside of school, some barely have a Sarahah, but they are still open to criticism. As I researched Sarahah, I saw harsh screenshots of anonymous messages about things like suicide and such. This app should be used for good and to give a person constructive criticism, not to tear down well being.
