Introducing Mr. Shin

Along with a new school year, we also have a new choir teacher: Mr. Shin. He’s local, born in Orange County. This is his 18th year teaching and he also teaches at the elementary schools around the Buena Park School District.

He’s taught in LA before, starting with high school, then elementary, and also junior highs. He started off by studying to be a college professor and got a job opportunity. Obviously, he’s stuck with it until now, lucky for us!

He graduated from Chapman University. As a student, Mr. Shin liked science especially. His own personal favorite instrument is the cello. He can’t really play it, but he enjoys it as it’s the instrument most similar to the human voice.

His advice to students: (1) don’t live in the what if’s (2) always try. By the way, choir students, please make this school year great for Mr. Shin!
