The Winter Solstice is Here!

Sage Lee, Writer

On Friday, December 21, the winter solstice will come. Now, what is the winter solstice? This is the shortest day of the year, and has the longest night of the year. On the winter solstice, it is the exact moment when the sun’s rays reach the southernmost part of the south of the equator. However, there is also a specific time for the winter solstice. It will happen at 11:28 a.m. Eastern Standard time. As winter officially begins, we will start experiencing the sun for a few seconds longer for each day. However, other than Friday being the winter solstice, it is also expected for a full moon and a meteor shower to happen that night.
